2011 Juneteenth Celebration

Come travel in time, back to the first decade of the twentieth century to discover what life was like in the all black town of Allensworth, California. Joint the Friends of Allensworth Cooperating Association and the California Department of Parks and Recreation as we celebrate Juneteenth, "… a day on which honor and respect is paid for the sufferings of slavery. It is a day on which we acknowledge the evils of slavery and its aftermath. "

Enjoy speakers, live music and a puppet show featuring Colonel Allensworth. The on stage entertainment is only part of the Allensworth Juneteenth experience.
